The second of the #2014BloggerChallenge posts is all about skincare. Gaby, the organiser, kept it nice and broad with no stipulations as to what we should write about, other than the very general topic of ‘skincare’.
So instead of posting my skincare regime, I thought I post about some of my favourite products and brands that I use on my skin on a regular basis.
First up is my Clarisonic Mia 2 (see my full review here). I use this about 2-3 times a week with the Vichy Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel. They work really well together and I love how my face look and feels after using them.
Next up is my Sanctuary 30 Day Youth Revolution Glycolic Peel-Off Mask and Serum System. This is a kit that I bought ages ago but have only just got round to using. You give yourself a lovely face mask twice a week (although I’m only averaging about once at the moment), and use the serum that comes with it every day. I think this is really helping to clear my skin up. It does look quite radiant the day after I use it, so it must be doing something! The serum is also lovely.
Once I’ve used the above serum on my face, I also pop a little by of the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Eye Cream (below) on my eyes too. I don’t want to get any (more) wrinkles!
As well as using my Clarisonic to exfoliate, I also use Paula’s Choice, 2% BHA Gel. This is a salcylic acid gel which I put on once or twice a week before I go to bed. I find it helps to reduce the number of blackheads I get, whilst also reducing the redness caused by past spots.
If I’m not using my Clarisonic and haven’t used the Paula’s gel in a while, I’ll sometimes use the below Vichy 3-in-1 as a face mask (which I’m modelling beautifully in the first photo!!). I also sometimes use this in the shower as an exfoliating cleanser. My skin always feels really nice after using this.
The Clarisonic, Paula’s Gel and Vichy face mask are all exfoliants. In order to make sure I’m not exfoliating too much, I’ll mix these up and never use them all more than 5 times in a week. So my skin gets a nice rest every few days.
Finally onto my moisturisers. I use the Neutrongena Oil-Free Moisturiser in the mornings before I put on my foundation. I also pop a little bit of the Garnier Eye Roll On as it’s full of caffeine and helps to reduce any morning puffiness.
In the evening I sometimes pop the Vichy Nuit cream on to help my skin whilst I sleep.
In terms of the skin on the rest of my body… well I’m a bit slack. If I remember, I’ll slap a load of body butter on after I get out of the shower. This NIP+FAB Coconut Latte is my current favourite – it goes on really nicely, absorbs quickly and smells divine!
So those are my favourite skincare products at the moment. I’m quite fickle though, so no doubt these will change soon!
