So this months Birchbox review is a little late! I opened this ages ago and forgot all about it. Which is strange, because it’s actually an alright one as boxes go!
It looks like they’ve brought back the little pouch bags inside which is good, as these are quite handy for storing various things in!
This months theme was ‘style’. I’m not really sure they they need to have a theme – just make sure the goodies you give us a good’uns!! That’s all we really care about.
Inside I got:
- Eyeko Skinny: Liquid Eyeliner // £12
- Leighton Denny: Nail Varnish // £11
- Beauty Protector: Protect & Oil // £16
- Corse Salmone: Ultimate Anti-Age Restorative Night Cream // £14.95
- Erb Asia: Eastern Treat Hand Cream // £19
- Green & Black’s: Dark 70% Chocolate // £2.29
The eyeliner and nail varnish are full size, so that’s quite good value for the price of the box. Although I’m not too keen on the nail varnish colour – it’s like a dull, pearlescent lilac, not something I’d choose myself, but I’ll give it a go.
I’ve tried the eyeliner and it’s pretty good. Goes on easily and doesn’t rub off or smudge too easily which is always nice.
The anti-aging cream is almost offensive! I’m only 31, I’m not sure I need this quite yet. I’ve not seen any other February Birchbox reviews with this in it, so I don’t know if this is a direct hint from Birchbox to me! Either-way, I’ve not tried it yet, but I’m sure I’ll get round to it at some point.
The hand cream smells pretty really lovely and isn’t too greasy. It’s not nice enough for me to want to buy the full size version, but it’s always handy to have small bottles like this for clutch bags.
And finally a nice little slab of chocolate. I like dark chocolate and this will be just enough to satisfy any emergency cravings I might have in the near future.
So all in all, not an amazing box, but not as disappointing as previous ones.
Did you get a beauty box this month? What’s your favourite one?
