Recently the skin under my eyes has become quite dry. I’m not sure why, but I wasn’t happy about it! My foundation wasn’t sitting nicely and even though I use Vichy Dermablend’s loose powder (which is amazing FYI), it still looked a bit cakey and flakey.
So whilst I was in Newcastle for my sister-in-law’s hen party, we popped into Kiehls and I picked up a small pot of their Avocado eye cream.
I’ve now been using it for a good couple of weeks, and I can say I’m really happy with it. It’s definitely sorted out the dry patches I had under my eyes and my make up now sits much, much better in that area.
I have quite sensitive eyes – they seem to water at even the mention of anything going near them, but I’m pretty liberal with this cream and it’s not caused me any irritations.
It’s important to note that this isn’t an anti-aging cream or serum. It’s also quite oily. So I tend to use it at night as part of my cleaning and moisturising routine. Then in the mornings I use my usual anti-aging eye serum (which right now is the Boot’s Restore & Replenish one).
I’ve heard a lot of people say that it’s too oily and doesn’t work well for them, but I’ve not really found that to be the case. Even on the odd day when I have applied it in the morning – as long as you leave it to sink in for long enough, then it’s fine. I always tend to moisturise my face as soon as I’m out of the shower, then I can faff about and get dressed and by the time I’m done faffing, then my face is ready to take the mountain of make up it takes to make me look reasonably normal!
This small pot was £20, which isn’t cheap, but I think it’ll last me months. Possibly even a year now that I’m only using it each night. So it’s pretty good value for money on that front.
So that was my Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream review – have you tried it? What did you think?
