Now Shabby Chic Home is not a beauty blog, so don’t expect an in-depth Vichy product review detailing the ins and outs of these Vichy products. I just happen to love Vichy and managed to get a good old bargain the other day, so felt the urge to share!
I’ve been using Vichy products for a couple of years now, but I don’t think it’s a hugely popular brand to people who don’t obsessively read beauty blogs, or subscribe to beauty boxes. Most of my friends haven’t heard of it.
I started using the Vichy Purete Thermale One Step Cleanser a couple of years ago. Mainly because needed something to replace the face wipes I was using to take my make up off. This cleanser is great – it takes off all make up, including waterproof mascara and isn’t irritating to skin of eyes.
I then started using the Vichy Dermablend Foundation – mainly as a cover up rather than an all-over foundation (as it’s pretty heavy, but as a cover up it’s great!).
Then I was sent a sample size of their 3-in-1 Cleanser and Facemask in a Glossybox. And I totally fell in love with it. I used it as a face mask a couple of times a week – slap it on five mins or so before I get in the shower, then wash it off. Bob’s-your-uncle.. beautiful skin.
But then I ran out and couldn’t find anywhere (other than online) to buy it. Even Boots and John Lewis doesn’t stock it. Very annoying!
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, Chemist Direct had a 50% off Vichy sale!!! OH MY GODDDDD!!!! So I got myself on there and went a bit mad!
My skin is AWFUL at the moment, so I’m really hoping these new products will help.
My New Vichy Products:
- Vichy Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Stick
- Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder
- Vichy Normaderm Night (night cream)
- Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel
- Vichy Normaderm Micellar Solution (make up remover)
- Vichy Normaderm Total Mat 30ml (day moisturiser)
- Vichy Idealia Life Serum 30ml
- And three bottles of the 3-in-1 cleanser and facemask (well a girl’s gotta stock up whilst it’s a bargain ya?!)
I’ve been on the hunt for a new loose powder and have heard good things about the Dermablend setting powder. So far it’s been really good – helped my make up stay all day, no cloggyness, good neutral colour.
I’ve been using the Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel with my Clarisonic Mia 2 (read my Clarisonic Mia 2 review here), which is so far going very well. Much, much nicer than the Origins Checks and Balances (which I found a bit horrible and drying).
The Anti-Imperfection Stick is basically a skinny little cover up stick. It’s okay – although not really thick enough for my current skin situation, but if you get the odd pimple then it’s probably a good thing to use. If I’m working from home and want to give my skin a break, whilst not wanting to scare the postman, I’ll pop this on alone – so it’s my skin isn’t totally bare, but it’s got a break from foundations and powders. I’m not sure I’d buy it again though.
I’ve not tried the serum yet. I’m halfway through a Sanctuary 30 Day Youth Revolution Glycolic Peel-Off Mask and Serum System which is actually really helping my skin I think. Anyway, that comes with a serum which you use each day for a month so I’ll wait until that’s over before using my Vichy one.
Anyway, so that’s my Vichy product review. Hope you enjoyed it – let me know if you’ve got any questions about any of these products.
