The lovely people from drinkstuff sent me over these mason style jar glasses to review. I’m a bit of a sucker for things like this. Firstly because I love the whole drinking out of jars thing (goes well with the shabby chic lifestyle I try to emulate!), and secondly because I love big glasses. There’s nothing worse than being a bit thirsty and only having tiny little glasses that give you all of three gulps. Nope – we are a big glass household.
I had a couple of friends over this Saturday night and I thought I’d use it as an excuse to make some yummy cocktails and use these new jar glasses.
Now the cocktail wasn’t particularly adventurous – just take one (large) helping of vodka, and top up with some traditional cloudy lemonade. Add some ice and a couple of slices of lemon and voilà – a yummy lemon and vodka cocktail (more commonly known as vodka and lemonade!).
This is me and my friend Ann-marie looking pretty geeky with our drinks. We were total geeks at school and as much as we’re tried to shake this geeky rep, it just seems to follow us wherever we go!
I also thought these glasses would be good as a little vase. This was just a cheapo bunch of flower, but it looks really sweet in this jar glass.
These glasses hold a full pint, and are currently on sale, reduced from £12.99 to £9.99. I can’t wait for the summer as they’d be perfect for BBQs too. I want to get some of those cute stripey straws as well since they seem to be all the rage right now! My brother is hopefully going to have finished his home-bar by summer time too, so I’ll be directing him over to drinkstuff for more bar based bargains!
Have you tried the whole drinking out of jars thing?
