When we got married in 2012, we bought a FujiFilm Polaroid style camera (Fuji Instax 210 Camera) for the guestbook. We asked each guest to take a selfie, then stick it in our book along with a little (drunken) note.
Being the over-enthusastic person that I am, I ended up buying waaaaaay to much film! So when I turned 30 a few weeks later, I decided to use the rest of the film to capture the fun of my 30th Birthday BBQ.
I’ve had these polaroid photos for over a year now, just sitting there collecting dust. So I decided to frame them in two large frames – as a way of displaying as many as possible.
So this is how I did it….
You’ll need some large frames (I got mine from the Range), and some backing card (because polarioids have an off-white frame, if you put them on a white background, they just look a bit grotty, I chose some blue card to match the blue room these will be hung in), a craft knife and ruler, and some photo stickers. And your polaroids or instagram photos obviously too!
Then arrange your pictures as you’d like them to sit…
Then stick a photo sticker to each corner. I used these Herma Photo Stickers from Amazon because they’ll peel off easily in the future, should I want to do anything else with these pictures.
I used the off cut bits of card to make sure that I was sticking these down in a roughly straight and even manner. I’m not one for proper measuring, but if you had the time or inclination you could always do that!
These were the photos all stuck down (the red reflection you see in the top photos is the TV – I was watching Dispicable Me as I was making this – a perfect Sunday afternoon film).
This is the finished masterpeice!
And both of them all done. Chapsley the cat was super helpful in making these (i.e. he sat quietly and didn’t try and kill me, which is always nice!).
What do you think? Do you like them? How do you display your polaroid or instagram pictures?
