Hello! Wasn’t this weekend just glorious (if you live in Southampton anyway – hopefully you all had a break from the rain-hell we’ve all been enduring over the last few weeks).
Since it was so beautiful I thought it would be the perfect excuse for my first beach visit
My sister and I originally headed over to Lepe beach – a beautiful stony beach where on a clear day you can see over to the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth. However, we were driving down the little road that leads there when we were told to turn around because the road was closed off. Apparently Lepe has suffered a lot in the recent weather – half the beach has been washed away as well as the car park and the lovely little cafe. I really can’t believe that the cafe has washed away! If you’ve been there before you’ll probably be surprised as I am. The cafe is really quite far away from the actual sea, so it goes to show how flooded the area must have been for it to come all the way up to the cafe.
Anyway, I digress…. so we turned around and went to it’s next-door-neighbour – Calshot beach. This isn’t my preferred beach of the two – it’s not as big and there’s not as many lovely walks in the area, but it’s still a beach! In fact my sister’s friend has a beach hut there, which I’m actually pretty jealous of.
I had been sent this fabulous Juno tassel slouch tan bag from Where Shall I Wander a few weeks ago. It’s my new favourite bag. I’ve had so many compliments on it since I started using it. It’s a fantastically versatile bag – you can team it up with pretty much any outfit. Here I’m teaming it up with an old fitted trench coat from ASOS, skinny jeans from H&M, and brown leather boots from Gabor. And most importantly, my trusted old Ray Bans – yay for sunshine!
Where Shall I Wander are a UK based retailer with a focus on fabulous accessories including bags, jewellery, scarves & purses. They currently stock Oilily, Juno, Fraas, Kipling, Bill Skinner & David and Golith.
It’s huge and has loads of pockets inside. The tassel can come off too if you want to smarten it up for a night out.
They also sent me this lovely warm scarf (the Fraas Brown Cream Vintage Scarf). It’s made from soft fleecy material and is sooooo cosy!
A-hoy there!! Is that a pirate ship I see? (no, just a tanker, which is lucky, because I’ve seen Captain Philips and it has definitely made me totally scared of pirates. Captain Hook has nothing on those guys!).
It was lovely to spend some time outside in the sunshine. It gives me hope that Spring is on its way!
Did you have a good weekend?
