It was my sister-in-law’s birthday the other day, so we all headed off to the White Horse in Romsey for a yummy afternoon tea with the whole family.
I’d not been there before, but it’s one of my parents favourite places to go for a nice bit of tea and cake (they’re retired, so are living the dream of spending their days planning cruises and going out for lunches!!).
The pub is lovely and the service was great. I think with afternoon tea, you always worry that a couple of little sandwiches, some small cakes and scones won’t quite be enough… but this would never happen at the White Horse! We had so much food!! But the great thing is that they’re very pro “doggy bags”, so my mum and dad took home some leftover cake and scones to save for the next day. They also don’t scrimp on the cream for the scones – there’s nothing worse than running out of cream and having to ask for more (such a first world problem!!).
We had a lovely time – the food was delicious and lucky Kate got lots of fabulous presents from us all! So I’d definitely recommend the White Horse if you’re in the Romsey area.
