If you saw yesterday’s post, you’ll know that on Saturday my sister and I headed off to London to go and visit the Ideal Home Show.
We decided to make a full day of it and stay up there for some dinner and drinks. I wasn’t sure where to go – we wanted to go somewhere for steak, but didn’t want to spend a complete fortune. So I had a quick browse on Rosie’s ‘The Londoner” website to see what restaurants she’d been to recently that she’d recommend, and I came across the London Hippodrome.
Now a restaurant slap bang in the middle of Leicester Square probably wouldn’t have been my first choice, but as well as Rosie recommending it, the reviews on Tripadvisor were all pretty good too. So I thought I’d give it a go and see for myself if it was as good as they say.
And it was!
We both opted for fillet steaks. You can pick how big you want it – we both went for a small one, but it was still a big ol’ hunk of meat! I thought I’d try and be a bit healthier and have mine with some mange tout instead of chips. Although I might have maybe nibbled on a few of Anna’s just to help her out a bit!
It was cooked to perfection as well. So, so tasty! You just can’t beat a good steak.
After dinner we headed to the loo for a quick refresh – but ended up hanging there for quite a while! They had a lovely vanity area, with mirrors and GHDs so you can make sure your hair looks as good as your face!
Eventually we left the comfort of the ladies loo’s and headed to the bar for another bottle of bubbles and an education on the dangers of gambling.
It’s a shame we didn’t pay more attention to the above leaflet. But no… we headed over to the tables and tried our luck on the roulette wheel.
And as usual, the house won. But not straight away, we had a good 30 minutes of winning, losing, wining, losing and then losing and more losing!
Have you been to the London Hippodrome? As well as a casino and restaurant they often have shows too. It was real laugh and really good value too. And not chock-full of tourists either! Perfect.
