This weekend I was up visiting my best friend Ann-marie in London. We had a brilliant night out on Saturday night, and come Sunday morning we were in need of a serious pick-me-up!
So she took us down to Brixton Markets, to a cafe called Senzala that does the most amazing crepes you have ever had in your life!
I’m not normally one for savoury crepes, but I felt like I needed something a bit more hearty than just a standard Nutella and strawberries (which would be my choice 9 out of 10 times, I just can’t resist anything with Nutella in!).
So I thought I’d push the boat out and go for the Morning Glory. An amazing mix of cheese, fresh tomatoes and crispy bacon, topped with a nice (well done for me) fried egg. Served in a wholemeal (they called it something like ‘glochette’ or something random) crepe.
It was AMAZING! Literally one of the tastiest breakfasts I’ve ever eaten. Really filling and utterly delicious.
Afterwards we went for a walk around the rest of Brixton Market. A lot of the shops were shut (probably because it was early on a Sunday), but there were loads of fantastic looking cafes, bars and restaurants.
Apparently on a Saturday afternoon, or Thursday/Friday night the place is absolutely heaving and has a real party atmosphere. So definitely somewhere I’d like to go back to again.
On the way out we stopped by Ms Cupcake and treated ourselves to a few of these amazing looking creations! The Ferrero Rocher and Oreo ones were to die for!
Have you been to Brixton Market? Got any tips for the next time I go?
