November is set to be another fun-filled month. With the countdown to xmas now on, I’ll be doing lots of jogging so that I can lose a bit of weight, which I’ll promptly put back on over the xmas period! So November will be healthy eating and exercising.
As well a fitness streak, I’ll be doing all of these fun things:
Dinner At Hotel TerraVina
One of my best friends recently celebrated her ten year anniversary at her job, so as a treat her boss said she could take her friends out for a slap up meal on him (nice boss!). So she chose Hotel TerraVina in the New Forest. I’ve never been here before, but I’ve heard fantastic things. So I’m really looking forward to that.
A Surprise Sisterly Day Of Fun!
I have organised a surprise day of fun with my sister this month. We’ll both got half days booked, so we’ll be heading off for some awesome fun and food. I can’t say what we’ll be doing as it’s a surprise, but it’s going to be really, really good!
Remember Remember the Fifth of November…. who doesn’t love Bonfire Night huh?! When I was living in New York after I graduated I realised with some sadness that I would totally miss out on Bonfire Night that year.
When my colleagues asked what it was, I explained about Guy Fawkes, how he tried to blow up our Houses of Parliament, but got caught, so he got hung, drawn and quartered, then thrown on a fire to burn (although I’ve since found out that I was wrong about his death – turns out he managed to commit suicide before he was hung, but that’s not such a good story!)… then each year we celebrate his failure and death with fireworks and effigies of him which kids build then throw on the fire to burn.
They thought it sounded terribly barbaric. Can’t imagine why?!
Ludovico Einaudi Concert
I love Ludovico Einaudi. He’s an Italian pianist and composer, and has done a lot of work for films and the theatre. His music is really relaxing and I love listening to it when I’m working, driving or stressed.
Here’s a video of him playing one of his most popular pieces, I giorni:
My sister found out that he was playing in Bournemouth in November and managed to get us tickets.
Birthday Dinner for Tom at The Pig, Brokenhurst
Tom’s birthday is at the end of the month, so we’re going out to celebrate at The Pig hotel and restaurant in the New Forest. We went there this summer for lunch to celebrate my Mum’s retirement, and it was so lovely I decided to book it for Tom’s birthday treat. It was a surprise, but he actually asked me a couple of weeks ago if I could try and get a table there for his birthday – great minds huh?! It’s a good job I booked it back in the summer though, as there’s no way we’d have been able to get a table on a Friday night at this late (four weeks!!) notice.
It’s actually the sister restaurant (I think) of the Lime Wood hotel where we went for dinner a few weeks ago. That was amazing, so I’m really looking forward to this.
